Abstract: The superoxide dismutase activities in callus and somatic embryoids at different developmental stages of Asparagus officinalis L. were determined by means light of induced oxidation-reduction of nitro blue tetrazolium. It was shown that the superoxide dismutase activity was higher in callus than in somatic embryoids at different developmental stages. The activity increased with growth, differentiation and maturation of somatic embryoids during somatic embryogenesis. The relations between superoxide dismutade activity and somatic embryogenesis were discussed.
