Research Group on “High, Stable and Low” of Wheat, Hyü Chang College of Agriculture, Honan
Abstract: In 1975, our province reaped a bumper of wheat harvest in history. There emerged a large number of advanced districts and units with continually increased yield in large area year by year. This is the result of deeply developing the mass movement to learn from Tachai in agricuture, and carrying out the "Eight-Point- Charter" for agriculture and raising the level of scientific farming. We conducted comprehensive investigations on production technique and economic efficiency related to high yield, stable yield and low-cost of wheat production on 7 millions mu of high yield fields in our province, and obtained some preliminary results. On these bases we analyzed and studied the following problems of how to complete "high, stable and low" of wheat: 1. Means to lower production cost; 2. Measures for establishing proper structure of the plant populations; 3. Rational application of fertilizer and utilization of water and 4. Management according to development of seedling and combination with promotion and control etc.
