On December 27th 2012, women scientists from the Institute of Botany hosted Prof. Tingyun Kuang for a celebration of her 50th anniversary working at the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Prof. Tingyun Kuang has a long and productive scientific career. In 1962, she received her doctoral degree from Moscow University and began working at CAS. She was a visiting scholar at Michigan State University and at the Plant Research Laboratory of the US Department of Energy from 1981 to 1982. In 1987, Prof. Kuang was elected a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Photosynthesis. She has also received numerous awards and recognition from scientific organizations throughout China for her contributions to the Chinese science community.
During the anniversary celebration, on behalf of Prof. Chun-Ming Liu, Editor-in-Chief of JIPB, Ping He awarded a trophy to Prof. Kuang for her great contribution to JIPB. Prof. Kuang is JIPB¡¯s top author, having contributed 96 papers to the journal. Please join the JIPB Editorial Board in congratulating Prof. Tingyun Kuang on this milestone of her career at CAS!
