摘要: The phloem pressure-flow model for long-distance transport in plants is well supported by experimental data. This review reconstructs the history of the concepts underlying this mass flow hypothesis. The authors examine the impact on the field of a forester, Ernst Münch, who in the 1920ies successfully integrated organismal and cellular biology approaches to study the physiology of the phloem.
