Abstract: New diphenyl ether glycoside, ilexfoliaoside, was isolated from the stems of Ilex litseaefolia Hu et Tang, along with esculetin and 3,4-dimethoxybenzylacetic acid. The structure of ilexfoliaoside was determined as 6,2''-dihydroxy-4,4''-di-vanilloyloxymethyl-1,1''-diphenyl ether 2-O-b-D-glucopyranoside on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence.
