Abstract: There are three types of ethylene production and respiration during the postharvest storage of melon fruits: 1. with climacteric rise in both respiration and ethylene production; 2 with climacteric rise in ethylene production but respiration declined gradually; 3 with no appreciable change in both respiration and ethylene production. The last one has good storage quality.
