Abstract: A new species, Sawdonia curstipa was found in the Hujiersite Formation of the Middle Devonian (Eifelian) from Hefeng County of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, China. Morphologically, this species was different from S. ornata and S. acanthotheca in stalk length, pattern of sporangial insertion, etc. Both axis and emergence possessed oblong epidermal cells.
