Abstract: Two new steroidal saponins were isolated from the rhizome of the Chinese native plant, Speirantha gardenii (Hook.) Baill. Their structures were established as 22-methoxy-(25R)-5β-furostane-lβ, 3β,4β, 5β, 26-pentaol 26-O-β-D-glueopyranoside ( Ⅰ) and 22-methoxy-(25R)-5β-furostane-lβ, 2β, 3β, 4β, 5β, 26-hexaol 26-O-β-D-glueopyranoside ( Ⅱ ) on the basis of chemical and spectral evidences.
