Abstract: The explants taken from leaves and infloresecnees of Caladium bicolor and C. hortulanum produced calli on N6 and MS media supplimented with 2, 4-D. When the ealli were transferred onto hormone-free medium or the medium containing kinetin and low concentration of auxin, they differentiated embryoids in a large amount. This study provided a method of rapid propagation for Caladium.
