A New Diterpenoid from Alpinia zerumbet

Abstract: A new diterpenoid compound, zerumbetol, was isolated from the petrol extract of rhizome of Alpinia zerumbet Burtt et Smith. Its structure was determined by spectroscopic method (IR, MS, NMR) to be 6β -hydroxy-15,16-epoxy-8 (17), 11 (trans), 13 (16), 14-1abd-tetraene.
