Abstract: Four compounds were isolated from Onosma confertum W. W. Smith. They were identified as deoxyshikonine (Ⅰ), β, β-dimethylacrylshkonin (Ⅱ), acetylshikonine (Ⅲ) and shikonin (Ⅳ) according to their physical and chemical constants from MS, IR, 1H-NMR, CD-HPLC determination. The total quantity of shikonin obtained after basic hydrolysis of its derivatives was determined.
