Prof. Zhi-Hong Xu, Chinese Academy of Sciences academician and former president of Peking University delivered an excellent opening speech.
Prof. Peter Quail from University of California , Davis , gave a comprehensive overview on phytochromes and sensory networks in plants.
Prof. Bill Lucas from University of California , Davis , gave a much appreciated talk on plant vascular tissue.
The turnout for the symposium was very high; over 300 participants enjoyed three days of seminars and workshops.
