We are delighted to announce that Prof. Bill Lucas has been appointed as Co-Editor-in-Chief (Co-EIC) of JIPB, authorized by the Botanical Society of China and the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Lucas is a distinguished plant biologist; he is a Full Professor at the University of California, Davis, USA. He has served as Chair of the Department of Plant Biology at UC-Davis from 2006 to 2016, is an Academician of the France Academy of Sciences, and served as Assigning Editor for The Plant Cell from 2006 to 2015. Since Sept. 1, 2009, he has served as a Senior Editor and a Member of the JIPB Executive Committee. In addition, Prof. Lucas has participated in numerous JIPB-sponsored Scientific Writing Workshops; indeed, he is dedicated to assisting junior scientists in the advancement of their scientific careers. We believe this important changes in JIPB management will further advance the national and international mission of the journal.
