Co-Editors-in-Chief: Kang Chong and Zhizhong Gong

We are delighted to announce that Prof. Kang Chong and Prof. Zhizhong Gong have been appointed as Co-Editors-in-Chief (Co-EICs) of JIPB, authorized by the Botanical Society of China (BSC) and the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IBCAS).
Prof. Kang Chong is a distinguished plant biologist. He is a Professor at the IBCAS, and at University of CAS. Currently he is the president of BSC. His lab has published more than 60 papers on peer-reviewed journals, including Cell, EMBO Journal, PNAS, Plant Cell, Nature Communications, Plant Journal and Plant Physiology, etc. Meanwhile, he also serves as an editor of many scientific journals such as Journal of Biological Chemistry, Plant Cell Reports and MGG, etc. Prof. Chong was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017.
Prof. Zhizhong Gong is a distinguished plant biologist. He is a professor and dean of the College of Biological Sciences at China Agricultural University, and Joint Professor at Purdue University, USA. He was elected as the Vice President of BSC since 2018. Prof. Gong’s lab has published more than 60 papers on peer-reviewed journals, such as Cell, PNAS, Plant Cell, Nature Communications, Plant Journal and Plant Physiology, etc. He also serves as an editor for Plant Physiology (senior editor) and Physiologia Plantarum, etc.
We believe these important changes in JIPB management will further advance the international mission of the journal, and provide a better academic exchanging platform for both national and international plant scientists.
