JIPB's 2020 Impact Factor Reaches 7.061, a new high

The JIPB editorial office is very pleased to announce that JIPB’s impact factor for 2020 is 7.061, compared to 4.885 in 2019 (Figure 1). This represents a substantial increase of 44.54% over 2019. In the Plant Science category, JIPB is in the top 5% (12th out of 235) based on its impact factor over the past two years. This achievement marks JIPB’s longstanding commitment to serving the plant science community and publishing world-class science. The total citations of JIPB articles in 2020 were 6,749 (Figure 2). JIPB has remained in Q1 of the Plant Science category for nine consecutive years based on JCR rankings.
In addition to its increased impact factor, JIPB is currently accessible in 22,200 institutions worldwide and indexed by 85 global databases, including PubMed, SCI, CAB, and Google Scholar. The yearly full-text downloads of JIPB articles have increased from ~30,000 in 2007 to 460,331 in 2020. The JIPB editorial office is happy for the recognition of its position as a leading plant science journal, and will continue to strive toward becoming a key medium of discourse for plant biologists in China and around the world.
