Abstract: This article reported a new valuable species of symbiotic nitrogen-fixing plant Elaeagnus' mollis Diels. The acetylene reducing activity of its root nodules was detected by gas chromatography. The results indicate that the root nodules have high acetylene reducing activity, which may reach as high as 241.82 nmol C2H2 reduced/ g.FW./min, it could be compared to that of the leguminous plant.
